Woofie’s Selected as Top 20 Semi-Finalist in Intuit’s Small Business Big Game

From almost 15,000 entries, Intuit Inc. has selected Woofie’s and 19 other small businesses to stay in the game and play for the ultimate prize – a 30-second custom television advertisement featuring their company that will air during football’s biggest game on Feb. 2, 2014.
In the initial rounds of the competition, Woofie’s owners Leslie Barron and Amy Reed told their business story, rallied their fans on Facebook and shared their passion for why they deserve the opportunity of a lifetime. Their efforts paid off as they now move to the final rounds of the competition.
What began eight years ago as a pet sitting and dog walking business with just the two Ashburn neighbors has grown into a thriving, full-service pet care company in the Loudoun County area. Loyal clients trust in and rely on Woofie’s to care for their beloved pets in their absence; they provide pet sitting visits, overnight care, mid-day dog walking visits and pet taxi services seven days a week for almost 3000 clients in the Ashburn and Lansdowne area. In 2011, they added Mobile Pet Spa services to their offering and now have three state-of-the-art luxury mobile pet spa vans operating seven days a week.
Woofie’s is a member of the Northern Virginia Professional Pet Sitter’s Network (NVPPN), a local professional pet care network with over 40 member companies whose owners are committed to excellence in professional pet sitting, community outreach and involvement. This week Intuit’s 8,000 employees will view all 20 semi-finalists’ submissions and vote on their favorite small business that they believe best represents Intuit. These votes will determine the final four, who will be announced on Nov. 11. The world will then vote online on the Small Business Big Game website (http://www.smallbusinessbiggame.com) through Dec. 1 to select the ultimate winner.
