Gary Simpson of Windmill Capital Headlines Ivy Family Office Network Boston Forum
Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- The Ivy Family Office Network hosted its 2014 Family Office Outlook Forum in Boston, MA on with a discussion on “Emerging Alpha Generating Strategies” led by Gary L. Simpson, co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer of Windmill Capital.
According to Mr. Simpson, “Our strategy evolved after thorough internal research and analysis of international mutual funds. We saw that there is an inefficiency in the relationship between international open-end mutual funds and correlated futures, and we benefit from this inefficiency."
Moreover, “This is a liquid strategy as we are able to liquidate our positions within a matter of a few days. Since January 2008 our average annual compound return has been 6.2% with a standard deviation of 10.5%. Since our inception in 1998 the average annual compound return has been 13.6%, and cumulatively it has been 577%. We manage the fund cautiously and don’t exceed 80% net long exposure to the market.”
Other speakers on the panel included Steven Simmons of Sideris Capital, Eli Kent of Harvest Funds Management and John O'Callaghan of O'Callaghan Consulting
