The Corporate Whistleblower Center says, "It’s unconscionable for a Internet university, or a trade school to make money off of US taxpayers by abusing a system designed to help students obtain an education. As an example according to a recent report from the Department of Justice, ATI Enterprises Inc., which operates a chain of schools in Texas, allegedly inflated their job placement statistics to the Texas Workforce Commission and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges in order to maintain their licensure and accreditation. As a result of allegedly misrepresenting the statistics the US Department of Justice alleged ATI was fraudulently maintaining their eligibility for federal student aid, which according to the DOJ is a direct violation of the False Claims Act.
