Access Intelligence Announces Entergy Corporation as Host Utility for ELECTRIC POWER 2014
(PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- Entergy Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Rod West will address the Keynote Session on the morning of April 1 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. West led Entergy New Orleans’ recovery from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and now has executive oversight responsibility and authority for critical corporate services supporting the corporation’s commercial activities, including Entergy’s Utility and Entergy Wholesale Commodities business units.
Bill Mohl, President of Entergy Wholesale Commodities, will take part in the annual Executive Leadership Roundtable, scheduled for the morning of April 2. His work focuses on optimizing all aspects of Entergy's non-utility generation assets, which includes 5,000 MW of nuclear generating capacity, 1,340 of natural gas/fuel oil capacity, 180 MW of coal capacity and 80 MW of wind.
Chuck Barlow, Entergy’s Vice President of Environmental Strategy and Policy, will take part in a panel discussion on environmental regulations and compliance strategies during a plenary session that takes place on the afternoon of April 1. Barlow and his team focus on policy and regulatory aspects of a wide range of environmental challenges facing the company and utility industry.
And on the morning of April 3, Greg Grillo, Entergy’s Storm Incident Commander, will discuss the utility’s disaster preparedness planning process. Entergy has received an Edison Electric Institute national storm restoration award for 15 consecutive years. Grillo’s talk will be on the exhibit floor and open to all registered attendees of ELECTRIC POWER.
Entergy also is collaborating with ELECTRIC POWER to offer a tour of its Ninemile Unit 6, a new 550-MW, combined-cycle generating unit being built a short bus ride from the convention center. The tour is slated for the morning of March 31.
“Entergy is pleased to serve as Host Utility for the 16th annual ELECTRIC POWER conference, and to welcome attendees from all around the world to New Orleans,” said Rod West. “The conference and exposition offer an outstanding educational and networking opportunity, and New Orleans is the ideal location for this event for the power generation industry.”
“Having Entergy as our 2014 Host Utility strengthens ELECTRIC POWER and its focus on the power generation industry,” said Jamie Reesby, Show Director. “Entergy is a proven leader, and we are fortunate that key executives will be available to take part in our conference program. The Ninemile Unit 6 tour is of particular interest since the project is a brand new gas-fired unit.”
