The MOS World Championship is an inspiring event, motivating more students from all over the world to get certified and validate their technology skills.

Certiport (http://www.certiport.com), a Pearson VUE business, the leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, announces the 2014 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship, the most popular technology skills competition on Microsoft Office since its inception in 2002.

Entering its thirteenth year, countries from around the world will host local competitions to determine country and regional representatives based on exam scores and completion times. The deadline for all qualifying exams will be June 15, 2014. Selected finalists will then compete in the 2014 MOS World Championship held in Anaheim, California on July 27–30, 2014.

“The MOS World Championship is an inspiring event, motivating more students from all over the world to get certified and validate their technology skills,” said Bob Whelan, president and chief executive officer for Pearson VUE. “Those who qualify for the World Championship are in for a real treat as we travel to Disneyland for a high stakes competition and a lot of fun.”

To participate, students age 13 to 22 must submit a passing score on the MOS Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Word 2010, Excel 2010, or PowerPoint 2010 exams and attend an approved, accredited learning institution. Regional participation and availability varies by country. Please contact a local Certiport Solution Provider or contact Certiport at MOSchampionship(at)certiport(dot)com for further details.

Participants who outperform their peers to make the final round of the World Championship generally have perfect or near-perfect exam scores and completion times well below the allotted examination time. The top three winners in each category will receive scholarship prizes for $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively.
