MediGap Advisors Announces November 12 Health Care Reform Webinar
Fort Collins, CO (PRWEB) November 11, 2013 -- MediGap Advisors will conduct a comprehensive webinar on November 12, 2013, to inform Medicare recipients of recent changes brought on by health care reform and how their Medicare benefits will be affected.
Medicare expert and webinar host Fred Adams will answer questions and present news and strategies for those 65 and older. “Changes in health care reform are of big concern to seniors,” says Adams. “We believe that knowledge is power when it comes to health care reform.”
The estimated $135 billion in Medicare cuts by the Obama administration is scheduled to be the main topic in Adams’ latest webinar. “Many Medicare members are rightfully nervous about how health care reform will affect their benefits,” explains Adams, who will also discuss the projected $7 billion in reimbursement cuts to those health insurance carriers offering 2014 Medicare Advantage plans.
Another topic for discussion will focus on Medicare consumers’ concern over the future shortage of doctors. The November 12 webinar will answer questions and address concerns over the number of physicians who are either leaving the program or no longer accepting new patients because of the lack of medical reimbursements.
Prescription drug coverage is also slated for discussion. Adams’ webinar will explain the predicted elimination of “donut holes” in prescription drug coverage—a plus of health care reform. Other effects of Obamacare, such as the possible loss of 100 percent coverage of Medigap plans and the unavailability of Plan F gap coverage will be discussed on November 12.
Also covered: the creation and impactfulness of accountable care organizations and independent advisory boards, and concerns over reductions in prescription drug benefits.
“We hope all individuals and family members who are sure to be affected by health care reform will join us for this invaluable session,” notes Adams. “The future of Medicare and Medigap insurance is an important conversation to have to help seniors make the best health insurance choices possible.
“Many people underestimate how much health care will cost them during retirement,” Adams says. “We make it a priority to explain in simple English how Obamacare will affect seniors, and what they can do about it.”
