Urban Off-Campus Student Housing Development Will Add 446 Beds to Savannah for SCAD Students
Savannah, GA (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- The Hue, a loft-style, off-campus student housing community, is now under development in the heart of historic Savannah, GA. and will offer an urban housing option for 446 Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) students next fall. The community’s prime location, adjacent to several SCAD classroom buildings, provides convenient access to the Bee Line, river waterfront, trolley, community gardens, bookstore, museum, and more. Some third- and fourth-floor units will even offer views of the Savannah River.
The 213,500 square foot student housing community is owned by Stonemont Financial Group out of Atlanta and is being developed by University Housing Services, Inc. (UHS), out of St. Petersburg, FL. Construction began in August and will wrap up in plenty of time for students to move in September 2014.
“We identified a real deficiency in purpose-built, off-campus student housing options for SCAD students, and The Hue will not only fill that void, but will also exceed student’s expectations of college living,” said Bob McMahon, principal of Stonemont Financial Group.
Located just across the street from SCAD’s Alexander Hall, The Hue will offer residents a variety of modern floorplan options, including one-bedroom studios, two-, three-, and four-bedroom suites and three-bedroom townhouses. Residents will enjoy private bathrooms, granite countertops in the kitchen and each bathroom, GE Silver Series appliances, and full-size washer and dryer. Apartments are fully furnished and will be leased by the bed. Cable and high-speed WiFi will be complimentary, and water and electricity are included with a cap.
The Hue, named for the community’s planned vibrancy, will cater to the creativity that SCAD student’s desire. Amenities include a 25,000-gallon lounge pool, exterior decks, entertaining and semi-private gathering space, a well-appointed fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights, 24-hour clubhouse, business center and a resident gallery space. Residents will also enjoy the convenience of 3,600 square feet of ground floor retail and a 330-space, two-level parking garage, which includes visitor parking.
Importantly, The Hue was planned with residents’ security and comfort in mind. Students and parents can expect to find examples of this throughout the property, including gated and controlled community access and a dedicated parking garage.
"Our goal in designing this project was to provide students with a secure living environment, filled with amenities, all within steps of Savannah's downtown attractions,” said Zack Markwell, principal of Stonemont Financial Group.
During construction, a temporary leasing center will open off-site at 214 Drayton Street right next to Parker’s Market. Interested residents are able to secure their home now online or by visiting the leasing center.
The Hue will be leased and managed by Asset Campus Housing (ACH). For more information, please visit http://www.livethehue.com or call (912) 662-5142.
