CNA Presents $25,000 to World of Recreational Water Foundation
Las Vegas (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- Property and casualty insurance carrier, CNA, has presented the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) with a $25,000 donation toward its World of Recreational Water℠ (WRW) Foundation.
The announcement was made at the 2013 International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, held from Nov. 9-14 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. CNA has now donated a total of $75,000 toward WRW, which was unveiled at last year's International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo in New Orleans.
WRW's mission is to foster the safe and responsible use of scarce water resources and represent, defend and promote the sustainable use of recreational water. The foundation supports research into the conservation and energy-efficient use of recreational water, and underwrites education and training to advance recreational water environments for pools, spas and hot tubs worldwide.
"Greater demands on our water resources have made the responsible use of water an urgent concern for all of us," APSP President and CEO Rich Gottwald said. "Thanks to CNA's generous donation, World of Recreational Water is able to reach a widespread audience, heightening water awareness in the process."
In addition to promoting the safe use of recreational water, WRW protects APSP members against excessive drought restrictions and overly aggressive energy usage requirements. Contributing to the cause with a tax-deductible donation is easy by visiting WorldofRecreationalWater.org.
CNA's Jason Oswald, Program Director for CNA's Pool and Spa Contractors Program, said the corporation's donation represents its continued commitment to the community.
"CNA takes enormous pride in supporting organizations that strive to improve the quality of life in communities where CNA employees work and where CNA does business," Oswald said. "Our partnership with the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals and WRW is a prime example of this long-standing tradition."
