Announcing the new MouseMonitor™ Telemetry and MouseMonitor™ Rhythm Families of Wirelessly Rechargeable Telemetric Implants
Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- Indus Instruments is pleased to announce the MouseMonitor™ Rhythm and MouseMonitor™ Telemetry product families, two systems of physiologic telemeters built around the same powerful core wireless communications and long-range power transfer technologies. Both product families provide lifetime, continuous biopotential, activity & temperature data collection in mice & rats; the MouseMonitor Rhythm family integrates cardiac pacing capabilities to enable unique cardiac rhythm and electrophysiology studies. The MouseMonitor Rhythm is the first product of its kind to allow conscious, ambulatory and un-sedated cardiac pacing in mice and rats. Extensive efforts have been made to remove the limitations and inconveniences of other telemetric monitoring systems and enable entirely new types of investigational approaches and studies. Baseplates under each cage are not required with the MouseMonitor Telemetry or MouseMonitor Rhythm systems, simply plug the base station into any AC wall socket worldwide to enable lifetime, continuous data collection.
The MouseMonitor Telemetry and MouseMonitor Rhythm implants utilize cutting edge miniaturized batteries to enable continuous data collection for one whole day without wireless communications or wireless power transfer, enabling applications such as overnight vivarium data collection. These batteries are capable of hundreds of charge and discharge cycles and will last for the entire lifespan of a mouse or rat. Intelligent power-saving features enable scheduled data collection without wireless communications or wireless power transfer over the weekend or even up to one week depending on recording duty cycle. Both systems utilize the same base station that can send power to and collect data from both sets of implants simultaneously while charging them completely in less than an hour. Never worry about losing the recorded data, each implant contains enough memory to record months of data that stays safe even when the battery runs out.
