Two of the most respected and appreciated artists in the music business will be hitting the road together in 2014. The 18-date tour beginning on February 8th and ending on March 16th will feature Sting and Paul Simon. The two will perform their own songs and have even promised a few duets. This isn't the first time the two men have performed together, but it is the first time they will hold a full-blown tour together. The two previously performed at a benefit for the Robin Hood Foundation, which is where the idea for this tour came to fruition.
Sting has released 11 solo studio albums in his career after a lengthy and highly successful career with The Police. Sting, of Wallsend, Northumberland, England in the United Kingdom, has spent much of his career at the top of the music charts with his singles and albums. He has had nine albums reach the top 10 charts in the United States and two of those albums have reached the top spot in the United Kingdom. His albums have been very popular in Austria and the former The Police front man has had numerous singles reach the top of the charts around the world. Among his most popular songs are "All For Love," a song he sang with Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart; "It's Probably Me," with Eric Clapton; and "Desert Rose," with Cheb Mami.
His partner on this tour, Simon, has been in the music business since the 1960s when he was a part of Simon & Garfunkel. The duo released five studio albums and four live albums and was one of the most successful acts in the music business throughout their time together. Their last album, Bridge Over Troubled Water, went platinum eight times in the United States and reached platinum status in several other countries including Canada, France and United Kingdom. As a solo artist, Simon has released 11 albums as a solo artist, including six that reached the top 10 charts and one, Still Crazy After All These Years, which reached the top spot in the United States.
The Simon and Sting tour will begin at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas; and end at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The tour will also make stops at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado; The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan; Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., and a date at the world famous Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
