This is our way of continuing our support to the community by aiding our nation’s students and future leaders.
Birmingham, MI (PRWEB) November 20, 2013
The Law Offices of Goodwin & Scieszka has launched its first annual scholarship program, designed to provide financial assistance to students committed to pursuing a career in law. Scholarships will be awarded to three winners: one grand prize winner receiving $1,000 and two runners-up receiving $500 each.
“We’ve always tried to give back to the community with pro bono work,” says Scott Goodwin, founder and managing partner of Goodwin & Scieszka. “This is our way of continuing our support to the community by aiding our nation’s students and future leaders.”
To apply for the Innovation Scholarship, applicants must submit their school transcripts and an essay answering a legal question posed by Goodwin & Scieszka. The winners will be based on their answer to that question, as well as academic merit.
“We really want the best and brightest,” Goodwin explains. “Our essay questions require a lot of thought and innovation, hence the name of this scholarship.”
In addition to the new scholarship, Goodwin & Scieszka hold “Law Day," an annual event in which they and other local attorneys provide free legal advice, bike helmets, and smoke detectors to families across the Detroit area.
The Innovation Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or law school student in the United States. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2014.
