U.S. Security Associates Makes Compassion Its Main Course as Thanksgiving Approaches
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Employees of U.S. Security Associates (USA) celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday not only by giving thanks, but also by giving back. As a national security company with 160 local offices, USA’s security service personnel work around the clock to protect and serve communities from coast to coast. During the holiday season, they focus on a different kind of community service. Many USA employees volunteer in their personal time at soup kitchens, nursing homes, food banks, and other organizations dedicated to seeing that community members in need have plenty at Thanksgiving. Employees at the security service company headquarters and in branch offices across the country also come together to make a positive impact on the communities they serve.
At the corporate office in Atlanta, employees participate in The Big Thank You, an annual initiative led by local radio hosts on Q100’s The Bert Show. The campaign asks civilians to write letters of gratitude to send to members of the U.S. military stationed throughout the world. This year, The Bert Show sought to collect 405,000 thank-you letters—enough to make sure every deployed member of the military receives one on Thanksgiving. By writing and sending their own letters, employees of USA helped The Big Thank You exceed its goal in giving thanks to service men and women who are spending the holiday far from home.
In Boston every year at Thanksgiving, USA employees with turkeys in hand flock to Academy Homes, a local assisted-living community. Senior residents who are unable to supply their own holiday meal gather in the community room to receive turkeys donated by USA employees. The gesture has become a staple of the holiday season for Academy Homes tenants, who are elated to enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving within the comfort of their own homes.
As part of her customer service duties, one USA site supervisor places and collects monthly catering orders for the Reading, PA bank she has protected for years. Using points from hundreds of orders swiped on her card, supervisor Connie Ramsey partnered with the local catering franchisee to provide boxed meals to residents of the Children’s Home of Reading, a center that provides residential programs and therapeutic education to children in crisis. She also recruited a local candy manufacturer to provide enough candy and desserts to last the children through the rest of the holiday season. Ramsey’s thoughtful organization of the event allowed her to bring USA, the client, and local businesses together to embrace the children with an outpouring of love for Thanksgiving.
The USA security service branch in Detroit brightens the holidays every year for disadvantaged neighbors by providing relief for those in need of holiday meals and Christmas presents. The employees work together to shop for and deliver food and gifts to local families, making sure each household targeted by the “Adopt-A-Family” program receives a complete holiday celebration package.
Peter Rykowski, District Manager of USA’s Detroit operations, notes the hum of excitement in the office as employees prepare to distribute holiday supplies. “Every year, our employees jump at the chance to meet the needs of our community members and invite them into the USA family.” Many USA employees choose security service jobs because they want to make a positive difference in the communities where they work and live, and within the USA company culture, there are many rewarding opportunities for them to do just that.
