Saint Jude Retreats Announces Recent Representation at NACDL's 6th Annual Drug Defenses Conference
New York (PRWEB) November 29, 2013 -- Saint Jude Retreats as of today announces the recent representation at the NACDL's 6th Annual Drug Defenses Conference in Las Vegas Nevada on November 21-22, 2013 as an exhibitor. Representing the organization was Susanne Herrmann, Business Development Director and Faith Moore, Family Consultant. The goal of Saint Jude Retreats representation at the conference was to help lawyers or legal attorney gain a new avenue of helping their clients if they are ordered to attend a rehabilitation program for alcohol or drug use. Saint Jude Retreats represents a non 12 step alternative to rehab that provides a true solution to substance use.
The Saint Jude Retreats staff had the opportunity to branch out and network with numerous lawyers who agreed that their clients could benefit from a non 12 step program. Hermann quotes, “After speaking with several private attorneys, there definitely is a need for alternative programs such as the Saint Jude Retreats. The lawyers expressed to me that many of their clients are dissatisfied with 12 step programs, dislike meetings, and just don’t find them of any value. There is more investigation into the 12 step vs. the non 12 step than we know about, and people are starting to realize that 12 steps are lacking a true solution.”
Moore, who holds a Juris Doctorate from the Widener University School of Law, also believes that there is due cause for alternative programs. She adds, “Most courts believe, by default, that 12 Step is the only option and tend to sentence offenders to a certain amount of AA meetings. The fact that Saint Just Retreats has true solutions with outcomes backed up by scientific evidence and continued research is vastly different from traditional 12 step programs. AA is simply a free-form meeting of war stories with little to no facilitation and no expected outcomes of change. It is typically run by individuals with little or no professional training in facilitation or adult learning. You end up with offenders merely marking time for attending however many mandated meetings but not really taking away any real lifestyle changes.”
The Saint Jude Retreats Program helps substance users overcome alcohol and drugs through the science of Neuroplasticity, and a self-changing process called Cognitive Behavioral Education. Their current “Think Differently” Campaign is launching around the east coast and is helping substance users become informed that they do have options other than traditional 12 step programs.
