California Board of Accountancy Elects Los Angeles Accountant as President

Savoy enters his new position with over 40 years of CPA experience. In addition to Savoy, the newly elected leadership includes Mr. Jose Campos, CPA, as vice-president, and Ms. Katrina Salazar, CPA, as secretary/treasurer.
A specialist in audit and financial reporting in the private sector, Savoy has been with Gumbiner Savett Inc. since 1994. An expert in litigation support and forensic accounting, tax planning and compliance, and succession planning and exit strategies, Savoy also is on the Executive and Finance Committee of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, where he’s also a board member. In addition, Savoy was the former chairman of the Americas Region Board of BKR International and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) Association.
Created by statute in 1901, the CBA’s mandate requires that protection of the public shall be its highest priority in exercising licensing, regulatory, and disciplinary functions. The CBA currently regulates more than 87,000 licensees, the largest group of licensed accounting professionals in the nation, including individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
