Loring Ward’s Chairman of the Board, Alan Werba, has just been honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Silicon Valley Chapter at the annual Silicon Valley Philanthropy Day reception and luncheon.

In recognition of his tireless contributions to the local community, Werba received a Distinguished Volunteer Fundraiser award.

Werba was nominated by Hillel of Silicon Valley for this honor and has served on Hillel’s board for more than ten years, leading a successful capital campaign to buy, renovate and endow a house for the college students at San Jose State and Santa Clara Universities as well as West Valley, Foothill & De Anza Colleges.

According to Alex Potts, CEO of Loring Ward, “At the same time that Alan has worked so hard to help build Loring Ward into the company we are so proud to represent today, he has also been working evenings and weekends to give back to the Silicon Valley community. Alan has a real passion for helping to change lives and change the world through education.”

In March of 2014, Werba will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from Hillel of Silicon Valley at its annual Pillars of the Community Luncheon. He has committed to raising more than $100,000 in support of the event.
