Sierra College Press Announces Fall and Winter 2013 eJournals Now Available Online
Rocklin, CA (PRWEB) December 22, 2013 -- Snowy Range Reflections, the Journal of Sierra Nevada History and Biography highlights authors Dugan Aguilar, Brian Bibby, Eric Blehm, Kimi Kodani Hill, Gary Kurutz, Tom Killion and Scott Lankford. This collection of authors emphasizes the breadth of beauty, history, art and intrigue of the people and cultures of the Sierra Nevada.
The Journal of the Sierra College Natural History Museum highlights an additional collection. This time, the speakers focus on the physical Sierra. Beginning with a Native American creation myth on the formation of the range, the collection continues to discuss the range’s very old and more recent geology and glaciology. Scientists Frank DeCourten, Dick Hilton and Laird Thompson discuss the hard-rock geology and the more recent volcanism. Tim Palmer and Dick Hilton discuss glaciation and the recent retreat of Sierran glaciers. World-famous rock climber Royal Robbins wraps up the collection with his review of personal adventures in the Sierra – on its vertical walls and down its exciting rivers.
The mission of the Sierra College Press is to inform and inspire scholars, students, and general readers by disseminating ideas, knowledge, and academic scholarship of value concerning the Sierra Nevada region.
