Michael Volkert Promoted to President of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida
Hollywood, FL (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Michael Volkert, previously senior vice president of slot operations for Seminole Gaming, has been promoted to president of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. In his new position, Volkert will be responsible for overseeing operations and leading a team of nearly 3,000 employees at South Florida’s largest casino and entertainment destination that includes the 500-room Seminole Hard Rock Hotel. His promotion was announced by Larry Mullin, COO of Seminole Gaming.
“Michael’s background in finance, gaming and slot operations has already proved to be a valuable addition to the Seminole Gaming family,” said Mullin. “His energy and fresh approach combined with his resort background makes him an ideal candidate to lead the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino team.”
Volkert is a seasoned casino executive who brings 16 impressive years of slot marketing, strategic planning and gaming operations experience to Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. Prior to his position with Seminole Gaming, Volkert spent a majority of his career with MGM Resorts International, most recently at the company’s Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. As a pre-opening executive hire in 2008, Volkert served as vice president of slot marketing and operations overseeing casino marketing and advertising, slot operations, technology and gaming floor design.
During this time, he also played a leadership role with MGM Resorts corporate office serving in a variety of capacities including positions as senior slot executive for MGM Resorts Las Vegas properties, senior member of the Corporate Casino Marketing Committee, gaming representative for internet marketing and member of the Players’ Club Executive Committee.
Volkert was part of the grand opening team of the Bellagio Las Vegas and spent six years with the property before advancing to vice president of slot marketing and operations.
He began his extensive career as a financial analyst with The Mirage in Las Vegas.
Volkert holds a bachelor’s of science in health care administration from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nev.
