Medibank Health Solutions to integrate InferMed's Arezzo clinical decision support into its systems
London, UK / Sydney, Australia (PRWEB UK) 3 July 2013 -- Medibank Health Solutions of Australia has announced a collaboration with the UK software development company InferMed to integrate InferMed’s Arezzo technology into its care platforms, introducing the power of clinical decision support into the healthcare interactions between Medibank medical professionals and its customers.
Arezzo will form part of an integrated solution with SAP technologies and will be introduced first into the Medibank Health Solutions Workplace Health business. This business delivers a comprehensive range of rapid, high-quality injury prevention and health management services, from recruitment to retirement. The Workplace Health programs:
• target health issues before they become problems;
• are designed to help reduce workplace injuries;
• help injured employees return to work as quickly and safely as possible;
• promote employee health, well-being and productivity.
The new Workplace Health program will be the first in a series of transformations of the Medibank Health Solutions suite of service offerings to public and private customers, with transformation of disease management services, and a health advice call centre solution to follow.
The ultimate goal is to provide an end-to-end service, allowing a patient to begin their interaction with Medibank Health Solutions through a self-diagnostic and treatment website, passing them through to a nurse-based call centre as necessary, providing services around chronic disease management and workplace health checks and interfacing with the patient’s clinical records as they pass through the Australian and New Zealand public and/or private health service.
Medibank Health Solutions provides more than 3 million healthcare interactions each year. The goal is for these interactions to be able to be linked to a single patient record over the coming years, with Arezzo at the heart of the process, supporting clinicians in making decisions that optimise the care for each patient.

This deal represents a further national roll-out of Arezzo-based solutions following the introduction of the NHS Direct Health and Symptom Checkers in England, the optimisation of NHS 24 call centres in Scotland and the use of Arezzo guidelines in 90% of GP practices in New Zealand.
