Mosaica Education, Manager of the Acclaimed Columbus Preparatory Academy, Announces New Online School for K-12 Students
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Mosaica Education Inc. announced today that a new online public school called Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio was approved by the Ohio Department of Education to begin serving students in the 2013-14 school year. The school will offer students an innovative education through engaging digital learning experiences and individualized instruction. Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio intends to enroll students in all grades K-12 for the 2013-2014 school year. As a public school, Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio will be open to all eligible students in the state, however its emphasis will be on providing a college preparatory curriculum to students who may not be fully served by their existing school options. The school's instructional model and academic strategies will focus on putting every student on a path to earning their high school diploma and attending a college of their choice. Every student will receive a Personalized Student Achievement Plan (PSAP) that fits each child's unique strengths, opportunities, learning styles and aptitudes.
Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio will follow the same Advance Ed-accredited education model and utilize the same curriculum as the multi award winning Columbus Preparatory Academy, a charter school managed by Mosaica Education serving students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Columbus Preparatory Academy has been rated “Excellent with Distinction” by the Ohio State Department of Education for the past three years and has boasted the highest K-8 test scores of all public schools in Ohio. “As Head of School of Mosaica’s Columbus Preparatory Academy,” says Head of School, Chad Carr, “I am excited to be offering our classes and program all the way through the high school level and to a broader number of students than we are able to serve at Columbus Preparatory Academy.” Mr. Carr will be overseeing the Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio in addition to his role at Columbus Preparatory Academy. Mosaica Online Academy of Ohio is governed by a non-profit board comprised of Ohio parents and community leaders, which is responsible for establishing the school's policies and overseeing its academic, operational, and financial performance. The school was authorized earlier this year by the Ohio Council of Community Schools, a not-for-profit organization designated by the University of Toledo Board of Trustees to oversee the legal compliance and performance of its portfolio throughout the state of Ohio.
