Classe Wines is pleased to announce that it is in possession of a limited quantity of 2007 Conceito Porto Port Vintage, an excellent Port wine from the Douro valley. It offers the best of both worlds, with a light and fresh taste that can be enjoyed either now or throughout its long consumption window that is expected to continue through 2047.
This vintage port's high quality is evident in its color, taste, and aromas, as well as its long projected shelf life. The color is a deep purple, and it has aromas that are both meaty and spicy and include black current, violets, and blackberry. The taste is of fruits that are dark and aromatic, with notes of fresh fruit and flowers as well, and it has a mineral texture. As a traditional port it has strong tannins, and a finish that is both generous and warm. Tasters have given it an excellent rating, and it has a Parker score of 90 out of a possible 100 points. The combination of superior quality both now and over a long period of time into the future is a considerable achievement for this up and coming winemaker. It is best enjoyed as a dessert wine, which is how Port is traditionally consumed, and is also good with pairings including steak or pork chops.
This port wine is produced at the Conceito winery by winemaker Rita Ferreira Marques, who began harvesting wine at her family's estate in 2006, when she took over its management from her mother. She is dedicated to natural farming methods, and at her estate everything from pruning to weeding is done by hand. The winery is located in Portugal's Douro valley region, using grapes from Ferreira's estate at the Quinta do Cabido.
This high-quality vintage Port is part of a vintage of only 5000 bottles, a limited quantity of which are currently available from Classe Wines at a price of $69.95 per bottle, $411.31 per half case, and $814.22 per case. It can be ordered online at ClasseWines.com or over the phone at 1-800-793-9141.
