The PFA Facebook page for John Arne Riise is a huge success with fans say Digital Sports Group
(PRWEB UK) 3 August 2013 -- Digital Sports Group today announced that The PFA Facebook fan page of John Arne Riise has broken the 15% daily growth barrier making it the fastest growing John Arne Riise page on Facebook. The Facebook page has become a thriving hub for the Fulham defender since its launch and now boasts a vibrant and rapidly growing community of fans. The Facebook page along with John Arne Riise player profile on football.co.uk provide the only online location of the official PFA biography, lifetime stats, news and high resolution gallery.
A fans’ favourite wherever he has played, John Arne Riise certainly underlined his terrace status during his first season at the Cottage following a number of spirited performances.
Regarded as one of Europe’s most respected left-backs, his capture in the summer of 2011 represented quite a coup for the Club and the Norwegian international didn’t disappoint. A Champions League winner with Liverpool and a player with plenty of international experience, Riise has been a consistent performer at the top for more than a decade.
Renowned for his unrivalled stamina and powerful shooting, he gave his all during the 2011/12 campaign – impressing both as an accomplished defender and as a marauding full-back. Riise offers a fine delivery from the left flank too, whilst his threat from set-pieces provides his team with an alternate attacking option.
There is healthy competition at left-back, with the likes of Matthew Briggs and Kieran Richardson pushing him hard for a starting berth, and the 2012/13 campaign saw Manager Martin Jol rotate between the trio - although Riise was usually the favoured option, playing 32 times in all competitions.
Having come close to joining Fulham when the Club was first promoted to the Premier League in 2001, there is no doubting Riise’s importance to the Whites’ immediate future. And having retired from international football in May 2013 (with a record number of caps for Norway), he can focus 100 per cent of his efforts on Fulham.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say, "John Arne Riise really has no shortage of fans after his performances for Fulham this season and we can see that by the success of his PFA Facebook page."
"All of us here at Digital Sports Group are proud we've had the opportunity to work with The PFA to give the fans a fantastic and unique fan resource for John Arne Riise."
DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player Profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
