Scorpion Software Founder Names New CEO
Chilliwack, BC (PRWEB) August 05, 2013 -- Dana Epp, founder of Scorpion Software announced today that he has selected industry veteran Barry Carlson to succeed him as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Epp, who will retain an active leadership role within the company as Chief Software Architect and CTO, said Carlson’s experience and vision in the areas of strategic business growth will be a tremendous asset to Scorpion Software, which is already the #1 user authentication suite for IT Service Providers.
Carlson becomes Scorpion Software’s CEO after serving as a veteran executive with 30 years of experience in senior management and leadership roles in successful public and private companies in the Electronic Manufacturing and Information Technology sectors in British Columbia. His experience in growing and managing the operations of Information Technology companies who have passed the startup phase and are on a growth curve will be a great asset to the company.
"I founded Scorpion Software back in 2003 with the idea that we could fundamentally disrupt and improve access security and authentication for small and midsized businesses who didn’t have the same resources as the enterprise, and the team here at Scorpion Software has done exactly that. I could not be happier to bring Barry into the position of CEO to continue the great work that our team has done," said Epp. "As we look at where the authentication industry is headed, companies that are focused on leadership in technology, marketing and customer service are the ones that will be best positioned for growth, and those are precisely the areas where Barry and I will add the most value to the current Scorpion Software team. As I continue to provide the vision and leadership on the technology front, Barry will be able to lend his experience in managing a maturing operational leadership team that can continue the growth trajectory of the company."
"Dana and his team have built a great suite of products, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic reception in the market. We’ve got a terrific foundation to expand on." said Carlson. "The challenge for us now is to build on that and deliver real value across the industry in identity, access and password management. We’ve got a great team, it’s an exciting time for the company, and I look forward to being part of it."
Carlson has been transitioning into the role for the past month and takes on full responsibilities as CEO as of today.
