Critically acclaimed boxing feature set for World Premiere
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 13 August 2013 -- The critics have been unanimous in their praise for writer/director Adam Simcox’s forthcoming British feature “Kid Gloves”. Film Threat described it as “Inspirational,” Rogue Cinema acclaimed it as “Wonderful,” while Filmmaking Review felt it was “Delightfully Uplifting… Masterful”. Now, Uncanny Films are preparing to show it to the world.
Life is a battle Fred (Victor Ptak) is losing. Edged out by his younger, more aggressive boss Johnny (Julian Shaw) at work and demoted to work in the call centre, Fred sees an opportunity to regain his self-respect when it’s announced that the monthly team bonding exercise will be a boxing session. With the aid of his Cuban gardener Gus (Edmund Dehn) and his foul-mouthed work colleague Jess (Heather Nimmo), Fred has one month to prepare for the biggest fight of his life.
“Kid Gloves” has been honoured with five nominations at the forthcoming Pasadena based AOF International Film Festival: “Best Foreign Film”; “Best Score - Feature”; “Best Actor – Feature (Victor Ptak)”; “Outstanding Cast Performance”; and “Best Dialogue – Feature”.
“We couldn’t be more excited about launching the film at the AOF Film festival”, explained writer/director Adam Simcox. “It’s going to be fantastic to get it in front of an audience - We’ve been blessed with some fantastic early reviews, which are invaluable in spreading the word, but nothing beats showing your film to a room full of movie fans.” “It makes it even more special that the cast & crew have been recognised with the award nominations.”
The film The London Film Review described as “Artistically Inspired” can be seen on 22 August 2013 at 5pm at the Krikorian Monrovia Cinema 12, courtesy of the AOF Film Festival.
