WILD’S Natural Blue Color Celebrates Five Years in the U.S. Market
Zug, Switzerland (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- WILD Flavors GmbH (WILD’s) Acid-Stable, Natural Blue Color continues to make major strides with Consumer Packaged Goods companies worldwide. Long considered a “Holy Grail” of the color industry, there was consistent demand for an acid stable blue color for food and beverages. With strong technical expertise to create and deliver unique solutions, WILD was the first in the United States to provide a naturally-derived blue color additive that is fully suitable across most food and beverage applications.
As a global leader for natural colors, WILD’s patented, proprietary development involved natural ingredients for a blue color additive that is acid-stable with a pH range of 2.5-8.0. The FDA-compliant blue color additives offered within the industry were only stable when applied in neutral pH products (pH 5.5-7.0). The brilliant blue color has a wide variety of uses with it stability and is ideal for both food and beverage in applications such as: non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, bakery, confections, dairy, dips/sauces/dressings/marinades, supplements, and health and beauty products. The radiant color not only delivers beautiful shades of blue, but also provides the foundation for other colors, including green and purple.
Although Spirulina has been widely used in Europe as a food coloring, WILD developed its Natural Blue Color years ago to fill the gap in the U.S. marketplace for the entire portfolio of natural colors for food and beverages, contrary to the belief that there has been no natural blue color in the U.S. until now.
WILD’s Natural Blue Color is naturally derived from fruit (not algae). WILD has taken the appropriate steps to ensure this novel fruit juice concentrate blue color additive is safe and consistent with the regulatory requirements set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in food and beverage products in the United States. The final juice concentrate has undergone safety studies under the direction of third party experts. Based on the information regarding the fruit, the process, and the safety data, this new, blue fruit juice concentrate is safe under its conditions of intended use as a color additive in food and beverage products and complies with FDA’s regulations on fruit juice color additives (21CFR73.250).
Added features of WILD’s Natural Blue Color include that it comes in liquid or powder form, heat/light/acid stable, kosher, water-soluble, GMO-free, clean taste and smell, and very easy to blend with other Colors From Nature® from WILD.
In addition to WILD’s expertise in delivering unique, great-tasting food and beverage solutions, WILD has been creating visually intriguing blue-colored products as well as a spectrum of other visually pleasing colors with green and purple shades. WILD is now able to offer our current Acid-Stable Blue Color and Spirulina to the U.S. Food and Beverage Industry.
