Let’s Help Kids Art Auction for Happiness Has a Lot to Smile About; Northern Virginia Childrens’ Charity Receives Generous Community Support
South Riding, VA (PRWEB) August 20, 2013 -- Saturday, August 24th is the second annual Let’s Help Kids Art Auction for Happiness, held at the Greater Reston Arts Center in Reston, Virginia. This local art event is being held to raise money for disadvantaged elementary-aged school children living in Northern Virginia. The popular children’s charity hosts fun and family friendly events throughout the year with proceeds used to purchase the non-essential needs of childhood such as music lessons, birthday presents, sports equipment, and bikes.
This year’s art auction and reception is open to the public and all are invited to view and bid on works of art by artists from across the country who have donated original works in support of Let’s Help Kids.
Let’s Help Kids was started by 6-year-old Rachel Harris and her mother Jen Sterling as a way to bring happiness to children who often do without everyday items that other children take for granted. “The art show and auction at Greater Reston Arts Center is a perfect event for us," says Jen Sterling. “Art brings joy to people and we want to bring joy to kids. This year’s donations are truly exceptional and anyone bidding will take home a great reminder of our on-going work in the community.”
