Speedy Invests Over £2m to Support Liverpool’s Thriving Construction Sector

The integrated provider of facilities and expertise to the construction, infrastructure, housing and industrial sectors has consolidated its three Liverpool stores and invested £2m over the next 10 years into a new superstore in the city’s industrial heartland.
Located at Sandhills Business Park, the superstore opening takes place on Wednesday 18th September with free product demonstrations and safety talks, giveaways and guest appearances by Liverpool and Everton FC legends Neville Southall MBE and Ronnie Whelan.
A charity car wash will also take place to raise much-needed funds for Emmaus Merseyside, the superstore’s chosen charity of the year. As well as fundraising for the homeless enterprise, Speedy Liverpool will also be providing tools and on-site training for a variety of its projects.
To launch the partnership, Speedy has pledged to donate £1,000 to the charity, as part of an online campaign to raise awareness of the new Liverpool superstore and Emmaus’ work in the local area.
Dave Harris, Commercial Director for Speedy which is centrally located in Newton-le-Willows, explained: “Our new Liverpool superstore is located in the city’s industrial heartland and is ideally placed to meet the needs of those working in construction, whether that’s in housing, retail or industry, both for our national clients or SME customers working in the region.
“Liverpool is undergoing a significant period of change as it make itself increasingly attractive to new markets both nationally and internationally, and Speedy is investing to be part of this new future, both as a provider of its services in Liverpool, but also as a Merseyside based business.”
The new 26,500 square foot superstore provides equipment rental and support services to a wide range of clients and also offers classroom-training facilities as part of Speedy’s commitment to helping companies and organisations manage their health and safety requirements.
The opening marks Speedy’s 21st superstore in the UK, alongside a network of 260 depots. The superstore employs 18 team members and is led by Superstore Manager Allan Jones.
Allan, who joined Speedy in 2007 and has worked in the hire industry for 26 years, said: “We are delighted to announce the opening of the new Speedy superstore in Liverpool.
“The opening day will be an opportunity to find out more about everything we do from Speedy’s infamous toolbox talks to product demonstrations by the leading brands. We’ll also be hosting a BBQ and the first 50 customers to make a purchase will receive a free pair of industrial boots.”
