SFJAZZ: Achieving Sustainability Within Performance Spaces is Featured Case Study on DesignRealized.com
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- SFJAZZ: Achieving Sustainability within Performance Spaces, an online course in the 2013 DesignRealized Eco-Responsible Design 2030 Continuing Education Series, is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8 at 12 p.m. Pacific / 3 p.m. Eastern. Designed by Mark Cavagnero Associates, the SFJAZZ Center is the first ground-up facility on the west coast dedicated to jazz performance and education.
During this case study, Mark Cavagnero, FAIA, will discuss how the design team worked to identify solutions to achieve a high-performing sustainable building that would compliment the stringent acoustical and lighting requirements of a performance hall. Some of the features include a 100-percent outside air low velocity displacement system, radiant floor heating, and natural ventilation.
“Mark Cavagnero Associates has won numerous awards for their work,” says Thomas M. Simmons, curriculum developer. “The SFJAZZ Center demonstrates the caliber of thinking that goes into award-winning designs.”
