North Muskoka Resorts Anticipate Strong Fall Season Ahead
Muskoka, Ontario (PRWEB) September 15, 2013 -- Muskoka, Ontario: Coming off a very busy summer season, the Resorts of North Muskoka group (http://www.north-muskoka.com), a collection of 14 accommodation properties located between Huntsville and Algonquin Park, in Ontario’s less populated north Muskoka tourist region, are pleased to report that many of its member resorts have been receiving a higher than usual volume of inquiries for resort getaways this fall, resulting in a marked increase over past years in the number of September bookings. Due to the higher than usual number of reservations already secured, many north Muskoka resorts are anticipating a very strong fall season ahead. Favorable weather forecasts and an aggressive new marketing campaign are the reasons cited for the improvement in late summer and fall bookings at north Muskoka accommodation properties.
The North Muskoka Resorts group is comprised of small and midsized housekeeping cottage resorts, all inclusive resorts, and traditional Muskoka lodges and inns. A region of spectacular natural beauty, north Muskoka extends west from the town of Huntsville to Lake of Bays in the east and includes the towns of Baysville, Dwight and Dorset. This spring, the group, in partnership with Explorers Edge, began the implementation of a comprehensive new marketing campaign to attract more tourist business to the area. The digital media project, which included an attractive new website and extensive social media exposure, was initiated to increase awareness and enhance the public’s perception of the north Muskoka area
“We are very pleased with the way this fall is shaping up here in north Muskoka,” states resort owner and Resorts of North Muskoka spokesman Les Gayne. “Summer got off to a slow start, due to unseasonably cool and rainy weather in the early spring weather. However, once the weather started to improve in midsummer, things turned around fast, and for many accommodation properties in north Muskoka, business hasn’t slowed down. We are already seeing the positive effects of our summer marketing campaign with an increase in website traffic, customer inquiries and in fall bookings. It appears that our marketing efforts are proving very successful. We are also delighted that Environment Canada is predicting warmer than average temperatures for September and October, as well as the ideal conditions required for exceptional fall colours. Great weather, brilliant autumn leaves and a strong digital media presence combined to make it a very busy fall in North Muskoka,” explains Gayne.
