Igloo Products Corp. plans to hire 250 additional full time workers in their Katy plant by the end of this year – representing a 31% workforce increase – to support the continued growth of the company.
The hiring is in addition to the more than 50 manufacturing jobs Igloo added in 2012, as the company increased production to meet the growing demand for its outdoor products.
“Our new hiring is a direct result of our continued growth strategy for Igloo,” said Gary Kiedaisch, Igloo chairman and chief executive officer. “As we expand our product lines, we need more people in critical areas to ensure we deliver the products people want and value.”
Igloo’s hiring will help support the company’s product quality initiatives and momentum. Igloo is committed to growing in the outdoor products industry across markets with a full line of products offering the best in quality, usability, design and value.
To attract new team members, Igloo has expanded its use of social media to reach new, technology-savvy workers, including such sites as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The company also is stepping up its recruiting efforts to reach military veterans.
Igloo will be hosting an onsite career fair at its Katy facility on Friday, September 20th from 9:30am to 2:00pm. The company also announced in late January it is expanding with the addition of a new 420,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution center currently under construction in Katy.
