Garmin Forerunner 620 and 220 Deliver Big Upgrades at HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- Garmin Forerunner 620 and Forerunner 220 were announced on Tuesday by Garmin, and the level of upgrades exceeds expectations, according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.
LIGHTWEIGHT
"The Forerunner 620 shaved a full ounce off the weight of the preceding 610 version which is just outstanding," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "Less swing weight is huge for running." Forerunner 220 shaves about four-tenths of one ounce from the 210 which was already a very light 1.8 ounces.
VIBRATION ALERTS
While the old 610 had vibration alerts the Garmin 210 did not but the Garmin 220 has added vibration alerts. "Vibration alerts are far better than audible alerts because you never miss the alerts because of excess environmental noise," says Squire. The 620 has vibration alerts also.
CONNECTIVITY
"Both the Garmin Forerunner 220 and the Garmin 620 have Bluetooth Smart so you can transfer data in real-time with your Bluetooth Smart-enabled Smartphone," says Squire. He adds, "The Forerunner 620 even has Wifi connectivity so you can transfer data in any hotspot or direct to PC wirelessly."
HIGH RESOLUTION FULL COLOR SCREENS
The 620 delivers a high resolution full color screen that is touchscreen and much less pressure sensitive than the 610 was. The Forerunner 220 has a full color screen in high resolution but incorporates button navigation instead of touchscreen.
MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE, HINGED BAND
Both watches now use a hinged watch band which is most more comfortable and user replaceable. "This is a major improvement in both comfort and fit over molded bands," says Squire.
RUN OSCILLATION & PREDICTED RACE TIMES
"Garmin 620 uses an accelerometer to deliver data on run oscillation which helps you concentrate on running smoother and with less bounce," says Squire. He adds, "The watch also uses an algorithm based upon VO2 max to predict your race times for various distances like 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathon."
NO NEED FOR A FOOT POD
The HRM-Run has an accelerometer, which measures your torso movement as you run in order to compute cadence, so you need the heart rate version to receive cadence data.
"The level of improvement in both of these watches was just outstanding," says Squire.
WHERE TO BUY AND WHEN AVAILABLE
Both the 620 and 220 will be available for delivery in late October according to Squire. He adds, "You can call us and get expert advice at 866-586-7129 or to place an order, we are taking advanced orders now and won't charge your card until we deliver."
