BSI Receives Safe Harbor Compliance Certifications from U.S. Department of Commerce
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Business Software, Inc. (BSI), a leading provider of cloud-based payroll tax filing, tax calculation and compliance onboarding solutions, recently completed the U.S. Department of Commerce's U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework compliance certification processes for client privacy and data security.
Safe Harbor Framework certifications are programs developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce based on seven key data protection principles regarding the collection, access, disclosure, transfer, integrity, security and privacy protection of an individual's data. The programs were developed as a way for U.S. companies to streamline compliance with the European Union and Switzerland's respective directives on the protection of personal data. Attaining both Safe Harbor Framework certifications provides the public with confidence that BSI has the highest levels of data security and privacy protection at all times.
"BSI has always been vigilant with our data security and privacy protection protocol," said Russell Rindik, Vice President of Operations at BSI. "As our software continues to process payroll taxes for more than 18 million employees per month, we need our customers to be sure that BSI maintains the maximum levels of data privacy protection possible and that all BSI solutions are secure. Achieving the Safe Harbor Framework certifications provides another assurance that BSI has and always will be committed to complying with the best data security practices that are endorsed by the U.S. Department of Commerce."
