Consultants from Banker’s Toolbox Earn Inaugural CAMS-Audit Certification
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) January 09, 2014 -- Banker’s Toolbox is pleased to announce that two of its staff are among the first group to successfully complete the CAMS-Audit certification process. Maleka Ali, Director of Consulting and Education, and Sherron Lewis, BSA/AML Financial Consultant, attended the inaugural class in January 2013 and, over the year, researched and wrote the required white paper. They were notified in November 2013 that their studies had been accepted and they would be among the first recipients of this elite accreditation.
Sponsored by ACAMS, the CAMS-Audit is unique in the AML/CTF and financial crime prevention community and bank secrecy act training. Building on current CAMS expertise, CAMS-Audit is advanced training designed to equip professionals with essential knowledge, reinforce internal controls and enhance their abilities to meet regulatory expectations.
“It’s the first certification of its kind in the BSA/AML field. This certification proves the participants expertise and that they are a top mind in their field," says Catalina Martinez, ACAMS Advanced Certification Program Administrator. “We only accept professionals with a deep understanding of the AML world and actual experience in the field."
Once the participants have achieved this honor, ACAMS recognizes them as thought leaders, committed to furthering the knowledge of the AML community. Martinez says, “We are having the certified participants present at conferences and webinars to share how their research affects the AML world at large."
Banker’s Toolbox CEO, Daniel Cho says, “We have many experts working at Banker’s Toolbox covering many areas of the financial industry. Maleka and Sherron have demonstrated they are not only proficient, but industry trailblazers in the AML world. We are grateful for their contributions to our staff and company."
