The company reported the sale of 60 Fresh Healthy Vending Combo and 20 Fresh Healthy Touch machines, to five new and two existing franchisees, scheduled for placement throughout territories in seven states across the nation. These additions amount to December sales that exceed $869,500.
The franchisees who purchased Fresh Healthy Vending machines last month will own and operate machines in their respective territories across South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas and Indiana.

Going into effect this year, as part of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, the USDA's Smart Snacks in School standard requires schools to sell food items that meet specific nutrition requirements in relation to calories, sodium, fat and sugar. Fresh Healthy Vending offers an extensive list of snacks that not only meet these requirements, but also offer more than enough suitable options to fill entire machines and meet the new standards.
“Beginning this year, about 5 million vending machines across the country will be required to provide calorie counts of their snacks under new labeling guidelines outlined in the Affordable Care Act. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the labeling requirements will help consumers make healthier snack choices,” said Kennedy. “The Fresh Healthy Vending Touch machine has 3D interactive calorie counts for all its healthy products already mapped in the machine software as we anticipated this regulation, meaning our franchisees can take advantage of the technology to gain firmer access and acceptance into more locations across the country supporting President Obama’s legislation.”
