Capstone Young Readers Launches YA Imprint: Offers Wide Range of Nonfiction and Fiction Titles
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) February 18, 2014 -- Capstone Young Readers, a leading publisher of children’s books and digital products and services, announced the launch of Switch Press, a new imprint dedicated to titles that appeal to the wide range of interests of the young adult audience today. Switch Press will include a broad selection of contemporary nonfiction and fiction titles such as graphic novels, cookbooks, craft/how-to, narrative non-fiction, historical fiction, poetry, fantasy and other speculative fiction. Switch Press is aimed at representing the hopes, aspirations, thoughts, struggles and secrets of young adult readership everywhere.
Switch Press is part of Capstone Young Readers, Capstone’s trade business unit headed by Ashley Andersen Zantop, Capstone Group Publisher and General Manager.
Capstone Young Readers launched in 2012 and offers an array of children’s books and ebooks for infants to teens.
“We are excited about entering the YA space in a more genre-bending model,” said Andersen Zantop. “We believe this approach represents and respects the whole person of each of our readers and their varied interests. Young adults and adults who are young at heart do more, are interested in more and lead more complex and challenging lives than we can speak to with only traditional fiction. Our goal is to provide our readers challenging, bold, emotional and engaging content that is meaningful to more than one aspect of their lives.”
“Our books aim to mirror the lifestyles of our readers,” said John Rahm, Senior Product Manager for Capstone Young Readers. “The name Switch Press symbolizes the ever-changing interests of young adults and the notion of ‘turning them on’ to new ideas.”
Switch Press will acquire and publish 8-12 titles per year from new and established writers.
The inaugural fall 2014 trade titles for Switch Press include an illustrated memoir, historical fiction and fiction: The Isobel Journal by Isobel Harrop (August 2014), Grace and the Guiltless by Erin Johnson (August 2014), Half My Facebook Friends Are Ferrets by J.A. Buckle (September 2014), and The Diamond Thief by Sharon Gosling (October 2014). The titles will be available as paper-over-board.
The website http://www.SwitchPress.com will launch in May and will feature book trailers, chapter previews, exclusive offers, social media connections and more.
