Catapult Learning Announces Acquisition of Drop Back In Academies
Camden, NJ (PRWEB) February 14, 2014 -- Catapult Learning, LLC, the largest provider of educational intervention, common core implementation solutions, and professional development programs, today announced the acquisition of Drop Back In Academy.
Drop Back In (DBI) operates 30 dropout recovery academies in Florida and Georgia where students can complete the requirements necessary to obtain a district-granted high school diploma. The acquisition builds on Catapult Learning’s existing range of instructional services and programs, strengthening its position as the largest provider of intervention services for at-risk students of all ages.
“DBI is an excellent fit for Catapult Learning,” stated Stuart Udell, CEO of Catapult Learning, “it enables us to leverage both our instructional expertise and our existing school district partnerships.”
Working in partnership with school districts, DBI offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma by attending student centers at no cost to them or to the school district. Each DBI academy offers an interactive, standards-based curriculum as well as college and career counseling. DBI manages all aspects of the program, making it an attractive option for school districts with high dropout rates.
“This is a proven model that helps a very challenging student population. With DBI’s experience in dropout recovery and our shared commitment to increasing academic achievement for all students, we expect to make significant inroads in lowering high school dropout rates as we expand to a nationwide solution,” Udell added.
The dropout academies will be managed by National Vice President and Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Eurmon Hervey. Dr. Hervey is a nationally known educator and the current Chairman of the Board of the Dropout Prevention Center/Network, a post previously held by Udell.
