Entry Software Research Identifies Unacceptable Project Delays Among 37 Percent of IT Managers and Corporate Executives
London, Ontario (PRWEB) February 26, 2014 -- According to early 2014 research from Entry Software, 37 percent of interviewed IT managers and corporate executives were dissatisfied with the additional amount time required to complete their IT projects.
Sixteen percent of research interviewees said that additional time exceeded expectations by 20 percent to 30 percent; 8 percent said 30 percent to 40 percent; and 13 percent said more than 40 percent of the original estimate.
Entry commissioned IMTS, a market research firm in Austin, Texas, to conduct interviews with 151 IT managers and corporate executives in the United States from the educational, hospital and manufacturing sectors. They were selected for their familiarity with IT project management issues.
“The purpose of the marketing research was to confirm that we are developing the right products for our clients – and I’m happy to report that we are,” said Mark Donais, CEO and founder of Entry Software. “As we work with current and new clients, the data will also be important in helping them find and benefit from new efficiencies in their IT project management, which eventually leads to better products and services for their customers.”
To verify and strengthen the veracity of its research, Entry crosschecked its findings with data from industry analysts and consultants. Insights from this secondary research included:
Eighty-six percent of projects fail to deliver according to their budget, schedule, scope, quality and benefits baseline.
Commercially available project-management software drives higher levels of portfolio performance through data-driven and timely-decision support.
Entry Software is also the developer of the TeamHeadquarters app, having release version 7.0 during December 2013. This newest version expands on the traditional contribution of IT and focuses on ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), which is a compilation of best practices for ITSM. TeamHeadquarters v.7 has been carefully developed to provide companies with a greater array of tools to manage projects and realize maximum benefit from ITIL.
