Ontario Society of Professional Engineers Teams Up with Job Search Expert Paul Hill
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) March 12, 2014 -- Job Search Expert Paul Hill will teach members of OSPE - Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, advanced job search tactics to get hired. Engineers frustrated by the lack of positive feedback from submitting application after application online, will now turn the tables on employers and learn how to implement job search strategies and tactics that result in job search success in this upcoming event.
Job search has changed dramatically over the last few years and engineers engaged in a job hunt must get a leg-up in order to come out on top in the tough competition for limited well-paying and fulfilling jobs.
The Get Hired event provides unemployed, underemployed, seasoned engineers seeking a promotion, and new graduates with a detailed step-by-step process that leads to job search success.
"Finding a job today requires so many different skills. An Engineer must know how to create a LinkedIn profile and an online image (including Facebook and other digital media) that attracts employers. Engineers who decide to apply to jobs must also contend with knowing how to write the "right" resume because many employers have erected digital walls which filter out resumes. Not knowing how to win the digital filtering game is the biggest barrier to landing a job for many engineers" exclaimed Paul Hill, Lead Instructor for Transition to Hired and the international best-selling author of The Panic Free Job Search book.
"Employers aggressively filter out engineering applicants through the use of computers denying them access to good jobs, even when they are qualified, because job hunters do not understand that having the right keywords in a resume is just not enough to have their resume selected. Customized resumes written with the right 'keyword phrases', competencies, and the right context targeted to each specific job description that 'speaks to' the unique employer, are all critical factors to applicants' job search success," said Hill.
This one day intensive workshop not only deals with how to avoid being screened out by the employers' computers but more importantly how to breakthrough and get the attention of an actual human, more specifically the decision maker, and ultimately score an interview.
"It's not only qualifications and knowledge that employers want -it is the ability to demonstrate what you can do with the knowledge and qualifications -how you as an engineer can apply your competencies to identify and solve problems and get measurable results. Communicating what you can do often requires access to the right person at the employer you are targeting," said Hill.
Paul Hill is the job search authority on training job hunters on how to convert quickly from an applicant to a candidate and get hired.
"This is a must attend event. OSPE works hard to find and secure the best trainers for our members. Paul Hill has delivered outstanding programs for us in the past with great feedback from our members. He is entertaining and always over delivers and I know that engineers who are unemployed, underemployed, those new to Canada or new graduates will all benefit greatly from this hands-on workshop" said John Moudakis, Manager, Professional Development and Career Services for OSPE.
