Dr Delphinium Designs & Events to Host Orchid Open House
Richardson TX (PRWEB) March 23, 2014 -- Dr Delphinium Designs & Events' newest location, Flower & Orchid House in Richardson TX, is hosting an Open House on March 28, 29, and 30 of 2014. The Open House is an effort to continue the previous owner Gunter Schnetzinger's annual Orchid Gazing event. With two greenhouses containing over 10,000 orchid plants, Dr Delphinium's Orchid House is the destination for viewing orchids during their peak blooming time.
"Orchid-lovers from all over the state came to see the blooming orchids during this event for years. The fragrance, variation, and enormity of the orchids is truly something that can't be missed," said Charles Ingrum, owner of Dr Delphinium. "We have some exciting events planned and hope people decide to come out for a fun weekend."
Those events include opening up the greenhouses for touring, photographing, and browsing orchids, live music, food and wine on March 29 from 1-6:30 p.m. Local artist Renata Sharman will be painting live on the same day during the event from 1-5 p.m., and patrons will have an opportunity to win the finished piece. Other giveaways include Dallas Maverick tickets and Dallas Opera tickets, as well as a premium "orchid-scape" given away everyday.
Some of the premier events are an orchid class with Gunter Schnetzinger on March 29 at 11 a.m., and an orchid design demo on March 30 at 2 p.m.
Event attendees can look forward to 10% off everything in-store all weekend long, including the curated orchid bar where customers can create their own orchid plant by selecting an orchid, pot, and exclusive dressings like moss, crushed glass and more. Dr Delphinium will also be donating 10% of all in-store sales to their Charity-of-the-Month, Richardson's The Warren Center, a center that provides support for children with developmental differences or delays.
