Nominations now open for the 2014 Queen of Teen award - vote with the Book People
Surrey, UK (PRWEB UK) 28 March 2014 -- Nominations are now open for this year's Queen of Teen award, established by leading independent online retailer the Book People to celebrate the very best in teen fiction.
The Queen of Teen award has been shining the spotlight on some of the leading authors in the world of teen fiction since 2008, and this year it looks set to be bigger and better than ever. Nominations come entirely from readers themselves, and they have until April 29th to put their favourite teen fiction author forward for this year's prize.
Young readers supplied thousands of nominations for last year's Queen of Teen and the Book People are confident that in 2014 the award will attract even more attention.
"Writing teen fiction is anything but easy - these authors have to deal with sensitive coming-of-age issues in a sympathetic and credible way that young readers can relate to, and that takes real skill," said Ryan Barham, editor at the Book People. "That's why we established the Queen of Teen award - because we thought that the teen fiction genre didn't get the attention it deserved."
"2012’s Queen of Teen proved really popular and we're hopeful that this year's award will be the best yet,” he added.
The winner of this year's award will be announced at a special ceremony on July 11th.
Readers who wish to nominate an author for the 2014 Queen of Teen can do so simply by filling out the online nomination form. All readers have to do is explain in 100 words or more why their chosen author deserves to win. The top ten nominated authors will make up the shortlist. Each nomination will automatically be entered into the Book People's prize draw, with the opportunity to win tickets to the ceremony and meet the nominated author.
