San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- Australian based WorleyParsons, a world-leading provider of technical, project and operational support services, has signed a general agreement with ASD Global for the use of OptiPlant, Pipe Router and Pipe Support Optimizer for all its projects worldwide. In order to increase engineering efficiency for pre FEED and FEED Projects, WorleyParsons deploys OptiPlant to digitize, visualize, analyze, and optimize plants with a high level of productivity and accuracy. As the designs and models from OptiPlant can be reused for other projects and in Detail Design, the potential savings to the overall project is substantial.
Rapid yet robust definition of projects continues to be a focus and bottleneck for major capital projects across the process industries. Some of the key challenges faced by WorleyParsons included: meeting shorter schedules of project delivery, managing the alignment of the process schematic and physical design of the plant; and time-consuming setup of the detail design systems. The Calgary office took the lead in implementing OptiPlant first on a FEED project and saw project returns immediately. “Many Alberta oil sands FEED Projects have been executed using OptiPlant have proved to be highly successful. OptiPlant can equally be used for offshore as well as onshore projects. Most importantly, OptiPlant really saved the day with respect to schedule and change,” said Jeffrey Herring, WorleyParsons Design Manager.
"ASD Global will be working with some major offices to implement and roll-out OptiPlant on Select and Define projects that can start to address some of the Industry challenges faced by our Customers with regards to schedule, change management, quality and predictability of outcome,” said Martin Brooks, WorleyParsons Group Director of Engineering. Manu Chatterjee, ASD Global Chairman and Founder, said, “ASD and WorleyParsons are developing a mutually beneficial relationship, and we are proud to be their partner in increasing optimization, productivity, and better designs for all front-end projects.”
ASD’s OptiPlant is the leading pre-FEED and FEED solution in the industry, enabling rapid 3D modeling, review of multiple options, and generation of all required deliverables for estimating, design, procurement, construction planning, and engineering.
