The Heart Gallery of Broward County Announces New Membership Group – Friends of the Heart Gallery of Broward
Fort Lauderdale, Florida (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- The Heart Gallery of Broward is happy to announce their new fundraising program, “Friends of the Heart Gallery of Broward”. The program launched in February as part of the capital campaign – CAMPAIGN 214.
The program is reaching out to South Florida young professionals who can join by making a donation of $214 to the Heart Gallery. It is a wonderful way for them to get involved and held the organizations efforts. Members will also be able to attend networking functions during the year such as the 2014 Heart Gallery event at no additional cost.
All monies from the membership will benefit the Ask Me Program. The program was born after a meeting with the Heart Gallery’s strategic partner, ChildNet. Children were asked specifically what kind of activities they would want and then the organization matched their requests with a rite-of-passage activity, so that it was a life skill being taught while they were having fun. The first program initiative requested was a basketball clinic and that will be tied with a rite-of-passage activity, the boys will learn how to tie a tie. The girls asked for gift cards for a shopping spree for Spring clothes and that activity will be paired with a professional makeup artist to teach them how to apply makeup. A lot of rite-of-passage activities are forsaken when the children live in a group home and in a transient environment, our goal is to provide life tools and fun activities while they wait for adoption into a loving home.
“The children love the idea of their ideas for programming being translated into an actual event,” commented Yvette DuBose, Executive Director of the Heart Gallery of Broward County. “We are providing a voice for them at an uncertain time in their lives,” she added.
The Heart Gallery of Broward County is working with J.M. Field Marketing, a corporate sponsor of the organization to help market this new endeavor through public relations and the Heart Gallery website.

About The Heart Gallery of Broward County
The Heart Gallery’s mission is to provide innovative programs that help to promote the adoption and enrichment of Broward’s foster children. It is one of over 100 independent heart galleries across the country. We work closely with ChildNet and the local foster care providers to seek adoptive families and other connections for these children. The first exhibit was introduced in April of 2007.
The Heart Gallery of Broward County is a traveling photography exhibit of foster children who are waiting to be permanently adopted. The Gallery is unique: in concept- it is displayed in many public places just like an art exhibit- and in execution- every photograph is a vibrant composition taken by a professional photographer. Coupled with a bio card that describes each child’s personality and interests,
