San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- U-T San Diego launched a new, enhanced North County section, bolstering its already strong product in the North San Diego County region.
The new, zoned section will run Wednesdays through Saturdays. Sunday’s paper already includes an extra local section for North County, and this will remain unchanged.
“We are committed to covering more news, information, events, and the daily lifestyles of North County,” said Jeff Light, U-T San Diego’s Editor and Vice President - News & Content. “We know that North County is such a unique community and a very important part of the entire San Diego region and we want to ensure we are providing coverage, news and information our readers can trust.”
“The changes are a result of extensive time spent talking to – and listening to – readers in the community,” said Mike Hodges, President and COO. “The need for more North County coverage was clearly supported by that feedback and our research. Therefore, we have made a commitment to provide more local stories, community news, ads, photography and listings, as well as shopping, services and entertainment information specific to the region.”
Longtime readers of the paper will notice the return of the “North County” nameplate to the top of the Local News section, which will include content from both the inland and coastal zones, as well as regional North County topics.
“As with all communities within the region, we want the North County community to be informed and involved,” Hodges said. “The best way we can accomplish that is to provide the North County region information they can count on.”
