CONTROP's EO/IR Scanning and Observation Systems at LAAD 2014 – Providing Proven Long Range Coastal Surveillance Solutions
(PRWEB) April 04, 2014 -- The company recently expanded the range of the new Modular Electro Optic Systems (MEOS) to include a complete family of gyro-stabilized day/night long range panoramic scanning and observation systems for automatic intruder and target detection.
The MEOS systems are gyro-stabilized and remote controlled dual axis observation systems with a unique open-faced modular design, allowing the flexibility of use by incorporating a variety of optional EO sensors (three optional Day TV Cameras, six optional Thermal Cameras and two optional Eyesafe Laser Rangefinders) according to the customer's specific needs. The MEOS Pan &Tilt (P&T) is a robust, high accuracy unit, designed for prolonged 24/7 operation outdoors under harsh environmental conditions. The P&T is gyro-stabilized and features automatic leveling.
CONTROP's Coastal Surveillance products includes the SPEED-LR, MEOS-1200, MEOS-450/720, MEOS-250 and MEOS-U systems, all with the unique capability of fast panoramic scanning and automatic detection of moving targets, providing the systems a "passive optical RADAR" capability. The systems' thermal imaging cameras boast proprietary imaging processing capabilities with CONTROP's unique Local AGC feature, preventing thermal image saturation in case of very hot targets in the field-of-view. The MEOS family features interface and communication commonality.
CONTROP's family of products offers the optimal solutions for all SisGAAz project coastal surveillance requirements as well as other major coastal surveillance, border surveillance and perimeter security projects' requirements in Brazil and worldwide. CONTROP is in the process of establishing a maintenance capability for the MEOS and SPEED-LR products in Brazil, by a major Brazilian company.
The SPEED-LR (Long Range) has already been supplied to several customers for long range missions for border control as well as coastal protection. This very long range observation system incorporates a 1200mm IR Camera with X35 Continuous Optical Zoom Lens, a Daytime CCD Camera with Zoom Lens, daylight 1000mm B/W CCD Spotter Camera and an Eyesafe Laser Range Finder (LRF). Due to the gyro stabilization of the gimbals, the CONTROP systems have also been deployed for mobile area surveillance and 24/7 force protection.
CONTROP's ITAR free systems are operationally proven and used worldwide for automatic intruder detection requirements by major customers, providing a "virtual fence" in many critical and sensitive international projects including the security of borders, coastlines, seaports and harbors, airports, critical infrastructures, sensitive sites and more.
