The Newsletter Pro’s Shaun Buck Wins the Coveted GKIC Marketer of the Year Title for 2014

Recession-proof entrepreneur Shaun Buck secures his place in mega-marketing, taking home Marketer of the Year title from the GKIC Conference in Dallas last month.

Shaun Buck knows a thing or two about growing things. The 34-year old serial entrepreneur has owned and grown seven businesses in the past thirteen years. But it’s his most recent success that is earning him national and international accolades in the marketing industry.

Just three years ago, in the middle of the global recession, serial entrepreneur Shaun decided to advocate for small business success, opening his own direct mail company, The Newsletter Pro. The Boise-based company narrowed its marketing niche quickly to monthly print newsletters. Shaun said knew he had “something good, very good.”

“Starting out in the pager business, I knew the importance of communication for small business owners,” said Shaun, chuckling. “But I advanced a bit past the pager era, joined GKIC in 2007, and set out to create the best collateral I could with the skills I acquired along my own journey of growing companies successfully.”

The father of five has grown the company from two employees to 29 employees just in the past fifteen months alone. He needed that many as the company now mails millions of newsletters annually for its loyal clients. With record-breaking industry growth, his eye was on another goal, the GKIC Marketer of the Year award.

“I started with the goal in mind,” said Shaun. “And being named GKIC Marketer of the Year for 2014 solidifies that we’re doing things right and that recognition comes with doing the right things in business and in life!”

On March 29, at the Dallas-held GKIC Super-Conference, Buck received his recognition, named GKIC Marketer of the Year 2014.

GKIC, Glazer-Kennedy’s Insider’s Circle, was founded by multi-millionaire marketer, Dan Kennedy, in the early nineties and includes membership of businesses ranging in size from $1M to $1B in size. Kennedy shares industry best practices in growth and marketing to local chapters and study groups in over 100 cities and has trained consultants in over 150 various business industries. The GKIC Marketer of the Year award is a highly competitive recognition of achievement in small business promotion by a member of the group.
