Digital Publishers and Distributors Adding Physical Products
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 12, 2014 -- At the request of DashBook Royalty Pro clients, Financial Softworks, LLC has added a Reserves module that will track reserves against returns, needed primarily for sales of physical goods such as books and albums. This allows publishers and distributors to sell physical goods while lowering the risk associated with returns.
While many new businesses today take advantage of lower production and shipping costs by starting with digital products, they have found that adding physical products to their catalog increases both their sales and their marketing exposure. Unfortunately, selling physical products also comes with a high cost of return goods. Because of this, royalty contracts are sometimes written so that the royalty holder, such as an author, artist or music label, is not paid the full royalty amount for sales until some time has passed which allows for returns to reduce the royalty amount owed.
Adding this extra complexity to the popular DashBook Royalty Pro accounting system gives more flexibility to those needing to handle a reserves against returns royalty clause. FOX FUSE, a music distributor, was one of the clients needing to extend their reach with physical media.
"DashBook has been instrumental in helping our business function and grow, over the past few years. Managing royalties has never been easier, and now with automatic reserves and releases, DashBook can handle all of our royalty needs. Not to mention their exemplary customer service, which responds to our questions, if any, efficiently and effectively," said Zack Cohen, CEO of FOX FUSE.
The new Reserves module is available now as an option when purchasing the DashBook Royalty Pro system, available today at http://www.DashBook.com. DashBook Royalty Pro without the optional Reserves module is only $499. A QuickBooks integration module is also available.
