Charm Sciences Hosts Chinese Delegations for Dairy Safety Executive Seminar
Lawrence, Massachusetts (PRWEB) April 16, 2014 -- Two consecutive delegations of Dairy Quality professionals from China were hosted at Charm Sciences March 10th and March 17th. 17 participants representing top dairies across China participated in a week long Dairy Safety Seminar at Charm Sciences' newest facility in Andover, Massachusetts.
During their week in the US, the delegations participated in discussions on international systems for dairy safety and chemical residue control, hygiene management, and process verification, and donned lab coats for hands-on technical training sessions in Charm Sciences’ new training facility.
For most of the participants, this was their first time to be able to visit dairy facilities overseas and learn how US milk producers and processers manage dairy quality along the value channel from farm to consumer. Field visits included trips to local dairy farms, with a focus on milk quality improvement, animal health and feed management; and to local milk testing laboratories to learn about their quality and safety monitoring and control systems. Seminar topics and visit discussions covered feed and herd management, milking, milk transport, sanitation, residue testing and end-product testing.
According to Mr. Liu Bin of Chongquing Tianyou Dairy, “The ATP plant was amazing! I never expected that Charm produced all these components of the PocketSwabs by themselves. The farm tour was also very impressive; it shows the relationship between Charm and customers is very close.”
As participants were gathered from dairies across China, the week was also an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, experiences and best practices in an open forum. Remarked Mr. Cai Zhiqi of Want-Want Dairy, “I would like to see the establishment of a database [similar to the NCIMS database] of milk quality testing results in China.”
This was a joint program co-hosted with Charm Sciences’ distributor partner in China, Beijing Biostest. According to Mr. Zhang Yongsheng, General Manager of Biostest, “This tour helps customers understand Charm products better and what is behind Charm products. We are very proud of our partnership.”
