Charles Pierson, Former CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Named President of Frog Street
Grapevine, TX (PRWEB) April 16, 2014 -- Frog Street, a leading provider of educational tools designed to enlighten and enrich the minds of toddlers, pre-K and kindergarten students, today announced Charles Pierson, former president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA), will be the next president of the company. In his new role, Pierson will take on the responsibility to further develop and execute Frog Street’s objectives and growth strategy as well as identify new areas of growth for the company.
“I’ve always known that I wanted to dedicate my life to childhood development,” said Pierson. “I began volunteering for child advocacy organizations including being a mentor to three children through BBBS early on in my life. I have learned that the imprint of a child’s future is significantly influenced in the first five years of life. It’s critical to provide children with quality social, emotional and educational resources as early as possible. That’s what Frog Street stands for, and I am thrilled to join the mission.”
Pierson’s desire to support childhood development led to his role prior to Frog Street, where he was named CEO of BBBSA in 2012. With the vision to ensure the organization could serve as many children in need as possible, he worked to successfully relocate the organization’s headquarters from Philadelphia to Las Colinas, Texas - positioning BBBSA to better serve a greater portion of the national population more effectively in this century.
Pierson also served as the CEO of BBBS Lonestar from 2003 to 2012. Under his leadership, BBBS Lonestar raised $35 million in a five-year capital campaign. Pierson also led the Lonestar chapter to become the largest in the nation; merging together the Dallas/Ft. Worth/Arlington affiliates with Central Texas and Houston –during this period, the organization grew at a 13 percent compounded annual growth rate.
“Charles Pierson coming to BBBS Lonestar 11 years ago was truly the answer to our prayers,” said Frank Bracken, national board Chair of BBBSA and president of Haggar Clothing. “For Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, he completely revitalized our national staff and his dedication to the cause was palpable. I recognize his personal decision to leave BBBSA and our loss is truly Frog Street’s gain. His intelligence, charisma, and authenticity will serve his new company well.”
With a Masters in business administration from Vanderbilt, Pierson’s career includes more than 20 years of business leadership within large enterprises and start-up ventures. His experience spans across various roles including sales, operations, finance and general management. He has worked alongside well-known business icons through business ventures and philanthropy, including Bracken; Don Carty, former CEO of American Airlines and T. Boone Pickens, a well-known American business magnate and financier.
“Charles will undoubtedly help us take the Frog Street mission to new heights,” said Frog Street CEO Ron Chase. “He’s not only a seasoned executive with a proven track record of business success but he’s an inspirational leader with a true passion for our cause.”
Carty, a longtime mentor and friend of Pierson’s, said they share a belief in the importance of educating the next generation. “Charles succeeds in anything he has a passion for,” said Carty. “In going to Frog Street, he is building on the work he started at BBBS by helping children build an early foundation for the future. He will do great things at Frog Street.”
