Clean Water Systems & Stores Inc Supplies Ultra-Filtration and Disinfection Equipment for Emergency Response Trailer Project
Santa Cruz, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2014 -- Clean Water Systems & Stores Inc was chosen to supply advanced ultra-filtration and disinfection systems for the construction of the Emergency Mobile Water Treatment System (EMWTS) for the Clackamas River Water District (CRWD). The trailer system was built by Global Remediation Solutions LLC (GRS) and completed the as per the specifications in the Formal ITB No. 115468 presented by the City of Portland, Oregon.
The Emergency Mobile Water Treatment System was built to be a self-sufficient closed unit that is housed in a trailer and can be pulled to any location to produce drinking water that meets the National Primary and Secondary Drinking Water regulations for organic, inorganic and microbial contaminants.
This system was designed to draw from contaminated water sources and produce enough safe water to care for 10,000 or more people per day. The responsiveness of the mobile on-site water purification unit ensures that clean water gets to those who need it and will complement the existing Emergency Water Distribution Systems.
The emergency water treatment systems include chlorine injection, pre-filtration to remove large particles, 50 micron filtration, activated carbon filters, and ultra-filtration which removes all particles down to less than 0.015 microns.
The system was built with pumps and filters to provide 18 to 20 gallons per minute (GPM) for total flow through. During water emergencies, the trailer can be driven to a disaster site and draw water from rivers, lakes or streams and instantly provide clean, disinfected drinking water for the community.
