Bay Area Recovery Center Introduces New Alcohol Rehabilitation Services
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- Alcoholism is an addiction behavior, a compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages that not only destroys the victim's health, but also his or her personal relationships and social standing. For such a serious condition, it is not just enough to find an alcohol treatment center, since they are a dime a dozen. It is imperative to choose the best treatment facility that one can find. To this end, Bay Area Recovery Center—also known as BARC—has recently rolled out its new alcohol rehabilitation plan, which goes beyond the surface of substance abuse problems.
At BARC, medical professionals give patients a full psychiatric evaluation for the appropriate detoxification medications and stabilization plan. Patients can be admitted into a BARC alcohol treatment program as an inpatient, outpatient or a person who is partially hospitalized. Inpatients get a 12-step support group orientation, in addition to relapse preventions, structured activities, enrollment in chemical dependency education and counseling sessions, and even job training if needed or requested. Outpatients either get a 12-hour group-based dependency counseling and a one-hour individual counseling session (intensive program) or a weekly three-hour interactive group counseling session and a monthly individual counseling session (supportive program). Patients who are partially hospitalized can go in for treatments in the daytime, which gives them more flexibility with their day-to-day activities.
BARC not only medically treats people suffering from alcoholism. A team of mental health professionals additionally help patients in getting to the reasons behind their substance abuse programs. This is why the aforementioned counseling sessions are included. Even after patients leave the center, they still get follow-up treatments and monitoring on their ongoing recovery.
BARC also gets the families of people with alcohol problems involved in the rehabilitation process. The center provides trained counselors, who assist with interventions held at any of the five available treatment locations in Texas. Also, family members are allowed to attend alcohol treatment of their loved ones. That way, they can acquire tools that can discourage or eliminate bad drinking habits. These tools include coping with cravings, discovering great alternatives to alcohol, and working on any mental condition that can contribute to alcoholism, such as depression and bi-polar disorder.
