Connected Nation Again Named among Best Places to Work in Kentucky
Lexington, KY (PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- Connected Nation has once again been selected as one of the best places to work in Kentucky, finishing 12th in the ranking, up 3 spots from 2013, of small-sized Kentucky employers in the awards presented Thursday by the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
The honor marks the fourth consecutive year that Connected Nation has been recognized in the Best Places to Work competition.
Connected Nation, which works nationally to empower individuals and communities through increased access, adoption, and use of broadband, has its core operations in Bowling Green, and was one of 29 companies honored in in the small-sized employer category (those employing 15-149 U.S. employees).
“To be repeatedly honored by this ranking underscores our commitment to empowering individuals and communities by first empowering and supporting our staff,” said Connected Nation President Tom Ferree. “While our work as an organization is often recognized, this honor helps bring deserving recognition to our staff and the efforts we make to facilitate a positive work environment.”
Connected Nation has employees across the nation working with public and private stakeholders to expand broadband access, adoption, and use. The award is based in part from surveys of the Connected Nation employees based in Kentucky.
“We are continuously evaluating our work environment, and to be repeatedly honored validates that our aim to provide a positive work experience for our staff is paying off,” said Tracie Rotermann, Connected Nation’s human resources manager.
The selection process is based on an assessment of the company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey. The competition is a multi-year initiative designed to motivate companies in the Commonwealth to focus, measure, and move their workplace environments toward excellence.
Connected Nation was ranked number 8 in the final 2011 rankings, number 5 in 2012, and 15th last year.
Connected Nation was honored along with the other winners at the Best Places to Work in Kentucky 10th Annual Awards Dinner at the Lexington Convention Center Thursday.
